Outreach in the community

Sadly at the end of 2024 we had to close our Community Hub due to lack of funding. We are very lucky to have kept our Community Support Worker, Claire Wall in post who is now working out in the community on behalf of the Scheme. As part of her outreach role, Claire oversees projects supporting members and the local community such as our Enhance and Outreach in the Community projects.

Claire provides one-on-one support and signposting at weekly Drop-Ins, groups, and local venues. She refers people for welfare and benefits checks, debt advice, and energy support. Claire also works on fundraising, securing sponsorships with local businesses and schools. She is involved in the recruitment of new volunteers, ensuring they are DBS checked where their role requires this, and carries out their inductions as well as providing ongoing support.
