We are thrilled to announce that Cross Gates and District Good Neighbours’ Scheme has been successful in fundraising for a minibus to allow us to more easily transport isolated older people to our groups and activities.
How much have we raised?
Our fundraising total is a fantastic £19,000! Our new minibus is now in action.
Some of the ways we’ve raised funds so far
March 2014 | Special thanks to the Princes Trust who gave us £486, Inner Area Committee who donated £3,000, the Clothworkers Foundation who gave us £7,900 and £500 from Leeds Convalescent Society. A massive thank you to our members who gave us £3,124 plus our £100 Club
January 2014 | We were thrilled to be chosen as one of the two Christmas charities chosen by St Theresa’s Catholic Primary School. They raised a fantastic £500 to go towards our minibus appeal. A big thank you to all the teachers and pupils who helped to raise such a brilliant amount of funds.
December 2013 | Our Sandwich and a Song group raised £73 and many smiles as they sang for Christmas at the Cross Gates Shopping Centre
Ongoing | 100 Club is our weekly lottery – people pay £1 per week and are allocated a number that stays the same between 1 and 100 (or more if more people join). The draw is made weekly and half the money taken in is given out each week as prize money – at the moment this is £25, £15 and £10. The remainder goes towards our minibus fund.
Thanks to everyone who has kindly joined and donated to our 100 Club. Set up to pay for ongoing maintenance of the minibus.
